The story of Qaraghan Melek gives a very good example of the old Ottoman Empire, especially in Anatolia. In the past, people worshiped different gods from all around Turkey and then played a vital role in the religion. Today's religion does not have any traces from Ottoman religion with most of them being eliminated little by little.
